About us
Twenty years transforming your applications,
while keeping your code
PHL Soft builds tools to modernise IBM i (AS/400) applications. An integrated suite to transform screens, printed output and data exchanges — designed from the start to build on your existing systems rather than replace them.
Our story
One journey, one platform
2002
The beginning
PHL Soft is founded by Philippe Lachenko, a recognised expert on the platform. From day one, a simple idea: build an integrated software suite to transform companies’ screens, printed output and data exchanges.
Release after release, the range grows: web interface, revamping, printing, queries, data flows, mobility.
Late 2021
Joining the Armonie group
PHL Soft joins the Armonie group, alongside NOTOS, to accelerate its growth on the IBM i market. Continuity is guaranteed for all customers: same products, same contacts, more resources.
A group dedicated 100% to IBM i, from training to tools.
Today
A redesigned suite
The development studio has been rebuilt, and the solutions redesigned and enriched with many new features. An R&D team of around ten people maintains and evolves the suite every day.
You talk to IBM i developers, not a call centre.
Our conviction
IBM i is not a legacy to maintain, it is a platform with a future
And modernising it should never mean starting from scratch. That conviction drove the creation of PHL Soft in 2002, and it has not changed since: your applications carry your business, they are reliable, and nothing knows your business rules better than they do. What has aged is the user interface, the way documents are distributed and the ability to talk to the rest of your information system.
That is exactly what our tools address. They install on your IBM i, build on your existing programs and data, and require no rewrite, no change of platform and no multi-year project.

Our group
A brand of the Armonie group
IBM i skills are becoming scarce and AI is changing the game. The group addresses both: it trains tomorrow’s experts, equips modernisation projects and opens the platform up to artificial intelligence.
Armonie Group
The parent company: IBM i expertise, staffing and application maintenance, support for modernisation and platform transition.
NOTOS
The group’s training organisation: finding, training and recruiting tomorrow’s IBM i experts, so your projects never lack the skills they need.
CARL.AI
Artificial intelligence applied to IBM i: understanding, mapping and evolving an application portfolio whose original authors are long gone.
