PHL Query

Your business teams build their own analyses, in real time

IT designs the queries in SQL or with a wizard, organises them into folders and grants rights. Users open their own query, then sort, filter, group, total, export and save their own view — without ever writing a line of SQL or installing anything on their workstation.

Key features

What PHL Query can do

Sort, filter, group, total

Sort by clicking a column header, filters on three criteria, expandable groupings, totals on the displayed data, plus a choice of visible columns and their order.

Advanced filter logic

By default, criteria are combined with AND. A button lets you build the full logic with AND, OR and parentheses — enough to cover real-world analyses without going through IT.

Private or public views

Users save their own version of a query as a view, private to them or public to everyone who has access to the original query, with or without the selection criteria.

Export and printing

Export to a file, with the number of rows processed and a download link, and printing of a PDF report with a choice of title and font size.

Two design modes

SQL mode, with query entry and a creation wizard, or Query/400 mode, with selection of files, joins, fields, calculated fields and record selection.

Reuse of your existing queries

Import of your Query/400 and QM queries: your existing query library carries over, so you don’t start from scratch.

Reports with subtotals

Beyond queries, reports with column order and width, subtotals and last-level sorting, run immediately or scheduled, with PDF or Excel output and e-mail delivery.

Folders, administrators and rights

Queries are organised into folders, with administrators and per-user rights. Everyone sees only what they are allowed to, and the tool takes them back to the last folder they opened.

Web and 5250

A query or report runs in web mode, and also in 5250 mode for processes and habits that haven’t switched over yet.
