PHL 5250

Your 5250 applications in a browser, even without the source code

PHL 5250 runs any interactive application — program, command, query — exactly as it is, with no modernisation or rewrite. It is the answer for licensed third-party applications whose source code you don’t own, and which PHL Web therefore cannot web-enable.

Key features

What PHL 5250 can do

Your applications as they are

Program, command or query: the application is called without any change. It is the only possible route when the source code doesn’t belong to you.

Built into the PHL portal

From the menu manager, calling a 5250 command is as simple as calling a URL or a PHL Web program. It opens in a portal tab or in a new window, depending on settings.

Callable from anywhere in your web screens

A 5250 command can be triggered from a menu option, a button, a context menu or an icon in a subfile’s pagination bar.

Parameters exchanged both ways

A PHL Web program calls a 5250 program and passes it parameters, and the 5250 program sends back its return parameters. A library list and the LDA can be passed as parameters.

Customisable display

Colours, fonts and display device name are set at application or user level.

Genuine ease of use

Function keys clickable with the mouse, scroll wheel to page through a subfile, native copy and paste: users keep all their habits.
